New / old cage

I want to transfer my crested gecko into a larger tank , but the lid thats metal has a little bit of rust on it ..... i doubt this is ok , what should do?

Im not sure if this would work or not But you can try and take sandpaper to it OR you can attach a towel or something over the lid might want to ask someone else though
