Heat help
Hi I am new to Cresties and I have read up on them quite a bit, they say they dont need heat mat or lights but my tank is struggling to stay at 72 degrees so should I get heat mat ? I have read that a rainforest mat is good but where should I put it inside or outside the tank ? I have the coir substrate about 3" deep and he has a climbing wall at the back , he has a dark light in the hood my other question is if it's not getting warm enough how should I spray ? Thanks any help will be appreciated

Re: Heat help
you can use a light source if you'd like, but it has to be under 40 watts so it doesn't burn the little guy cause you don't want him dead! You can use a heat mat under the tank...but I find that it eliminates the humidity and makes it hard to keep it humid inside especially at night when you need it most. If it isn't getting warm enough you can do heavy mists to help keep it humid, but do not mist too much because you do not want bacteria to grow inside the tank. When you say 'rainforest mat' do you mean like a terrain mat? If so, that's what I use inside my tank to help keep the moisture in, instead of using ecoearth or substrate, plus it's easier to clean. Hope I helped!
